Stress & Worry
I have so much stress and worry my blood pressure is now high. I am a Christian. Should this be happening to me?
Let me offer you something to think about that will help to calm you and your blood pressure. For God has given us His peace with instructions.
Paul the Apostle writes while under great stress of life, exhortation to steadfastness as a follower of Jesus.
It is in chapter 4 of Philippians we find in verse 4 the words we sing, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Verses 7 & 8 we are told “The peace of God , which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, … honest…just…pure…lovely…of good report; if there be any virtue…any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS.” Verse 9 ends with ”…and the God of Peace shall be with you.” KJV Bible
Here are some Promises of God I think will work for you:
John 3:16 & 17 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” KJV Bible
Admit to yourself, “God Loves Me!” Yes, say it out loud.
Acts 16:31 – The keeper of the prison, where Paul and Silas were, asked, “What must I do to be saved?” and they (Paul and Silas) said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” KJV Bible
This instruction given says that if you believe, your family will also be saved.
Proverbs 3:24 – “When thou liest down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.” KJV Bible
Matthew 21:22 – Jesus says, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” KJV Bible
I know that God hears your cry, and answers, from reading in the KJV Bible Isaiah 30:18 & 19.
Matthew 7:7 & 8– “Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you: for everyone that asks receiveth; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocked it shall be opened.” KJV Bible
Matthew 11:28 – “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. And learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” KJV Bible
These are Jesus’ words.
Psalm 55:22- “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” KJV Bible
St. John 16:33 – Jesus’ words “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation (trouble): but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” KJV Bible
Psalm 23 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pasture, He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul, He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil; for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life’ and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” KJV Bible
