I heard a conversation about four horses that the Bible talks about with events that will happen when each one comes. I want to know more about them, please.
Take a Bible trip:
The four horses are found in the last book of the Bible, Revelation. This book is a revelation of predictive prophecy given by God to the Apostle John as the writer declaring the “testimony of Jesus Christ and of all things that he saw.”
The fulfillment of these predictions are to precede the Second Coming of “Jesus our Lord and Saviour.” Revelation 1:1&2 KJV
In Revelation 6:2-8 you will find the four horses of the Bible:
The 4 horses are: The White horse, Red horse, Black horse and a Pale horse.
Verse 2– is a White horse, represents conquest. He has rider with a bow wearing a crown. This is Jesus wearing the ornate crown of the Messianic King and Priest that was given to him. He controls historic events and conquers nations that oppress Israel.
Verse 4 – Red horse represents bloodshed and war: This rider was given a large sword and power to take peace from the earth, making men to slay each other. The red is blood as people are killed even to the scattering of their bones. Because of idol worship and pagan sanctuaries being built.
Verse 5 – Black horse represents famine holding a pair of scales weighing out food and wages/monies. A voice is heard midst four beasts that says do not “hurt/damage the oil and wine.” This is the destruction of the land smashed and ruined. Places (towns, rivers and valleys) demolished because of idols and ungodly altars there, all will be laid waste.
Verse 8 – Pale horse, death- named death and Hades- fallowing close behind with power over ¼ of the earth, to kill with sword, famine, plague and wild beasts. Because of humankind in its hostility to God. This is used as a metaphor for God’s judgments.
