I am searching for a career and want to serve God.
How can I know my place in life? I am searching for a career and want to serve God. What to do and how to find God’s purpose to work for me? Willing
Dear Willing,
First you must ask God for direction of your life in prayer. Then be ready to listen with all your senses. God’s Spirit will lead you in all your ways. Wherever you go, the people you spend time with and your conversations, will all be directed towards discovering God’s special plans for you.
I recommend that you get a daily devotional book and meditate on each day’s scripture as it would apply to you. God will speak through His written word the Bible. As you search the references of each day’s verse you will enjoy finding a desire to emerge. It will be something of great interest to you, God will put a love in your heart to search it out (learn more) and respond to His call.
God will keep that subject He has planted in your mind before you everywhere. You will hear about it, read about it and just keep bumping into that topic. God will not have you do anything you’re not skilled or able to receive training for. He will provide all that is needed, even a helper or someone to tutor you for the task.
We can look at Moses who God had him raised and trained in a pharaoh’s house where he learned to be a ruler over a country. Then God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt to become a new nation. God always prepares the way then asks you to walk with Him, as Jesus walked with the disciples.
Confirmation that it is God speaking will come from sermons. songs and conversations that will line up with what you’ve been reading in your Bible.
Remember God’s will for anyone will ALWAYS AGREE with His written Word.
To know God’s plan, you must talk to God in prayer and read your Bible, God will direct your pathway to success as you acknowledge Him in all that you do.
Proverbs 3:5&6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” NIV Bible
My NIV Bible notes: “He will remove the obstacles from your pathway and bring you to your appointed goal.”
