Going to Church

In Acts chapter 11:26 we are told “Not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together.” Most people gather in a church building to worship God and learn of Jesus and His ways, to be taught.” KJV

Hebrews 10:25 says, “Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of His coming back again is drawing near.” Living Bible

In the book of Romans 16:5 Paul penned greetings to a group of people who were meeting in their homes. He referred to this group as “A Church”. It did not matter where they held their meetings. The important issue was they joined together in worshipping God and learning the teaching and preaching of “Jesus the Christ”.

People in Church Praying

In chapter 16 of Romans, Paul first introduced Phoebe, a Christian sister and deaconess of the church at Cenchrea.  The letter he wrote to the churches in Rome was to be spread throughout. Phoebe carried the letter with greetings to many who had churches in their homes, and towns.  These were people whose loyalty to Christ with work and labor were unmatched, even to risking their own lives. Paul called them all saints and helpers of the gospel. “The revelation of the mystery which was kept secret… now is manifest by scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made know to all nation for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. A’-men.” KJV
